Welcome to PDF Toolbox (hereinafter referred to as "this Application" or "the App"). This Application is provided by Changsha Aipo Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our").
We highly value our users' personal information and file security. This Privacy Policy explains how we process your data, as well as the rights you enjoy in relation to your information.
Before using this Application, please read and understand this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree to the content of this policy, please stop using this Application and its related services.
This Privacy Policy applies to the PDF Toolbox App and its related services.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the following scenarios:
Information independently collected and processed by third-party websites, applications, or services;
Information processing behaviors after you actively share information with other apps via the system share sheet;
Information processing behaviors after you open files using third-party applications such as external PDF readers, image viewers, or file managers.
This Application primarily provides PDF and document processing tools, including but not limited to:
PDF Compression, Merging, Splitting, Page Reordering, Page Rotation, and Page Deletion
PDF Watermarking and Page Numbering
PDF Text Extraction (including OCR Recognition) and PDF Image Extraction
PDF to Image and Image to PDF
File History/Records and File Opening
Cache Clearing
Basic Settings (including Privacy Policy, User Agreement, and About Us)
Most PDF processing functions are completed locally on your device. The "PDF Text Extraction (OCR Recognition)" function requires transmitting the image data or text blocks you actively select to our backend interface via an API for real-time recognition and analysis. The server only processes this data in real-time and does not store or retain it permanently.
To provide you with file processing, history logs, file opening, and troubleshooting functions, this App may process the following information within the necessary scope. We adhere to the principle of data minimization and will not collect information unrelated to the current services.
As illustrated in the data disclosure table above, this Application provides the "Extract Text / OCR Recognition" feature. To ensure high-precision text extraction, when you utilize this specific feature, the Application will transmit your actively selected files or images to our backend recognition API via a secure, encrypted channel (HTTPS).
We strictly guarantee that this transmission and processing completely fall under the definition of "Ephemeral Processing" as specified by Google Play. We do not persistently store, retain, or share your file content or the extracted text results with any third parties on our servers. The recognition process is executed instantaneously within the server's volatile memory (RAM), and all associated data is permanently and completely destroyed from the server cache immediately after the results are transmitted back to your device.

In the current version, this Application does not integrate any advertising SDKs, statistics SDKs, push notification SDKs, or tracking SDKs, and does not read or collect the following device identifiers:
OAID, Android ID, GAID / AAID, IMEI, IMSI, MAC Address, SIM Card Serial Number, or Phone Number.
This App does not utilize any device identifiers for ad tracking, user profiling, or cross-app identification. If third-party SDKs are integrated in the future due to functional upgrades, we will explicitly explain it in this Privacy Policy and obtain your consent where necessary.
To achieve file processing, saving, opening, and sharing functions, this App may invoke the following permissions or system capabilities in specific scenarios. We will never scan, read, or upload other files from your device without your active selection.

In the current version, this Application will not actively request the following permissions: Contacts, Precise Location, Microphone, Camera, SMS, Call Logs, Calendar, or Read Phone Number permissions.
The following functions are processed entirely locally on your device, do not go through any network transmission, and are not uploaded to any server:
PDF Compression, Merging, Splitting, Page Reordering, Page Rotation, and Page Deletion, PDF Watermarking, Page Numbering, PDF to Image, Image to PDF, and PDF Image Extraction.
When you use the "PDF Text Extraction (OCR Recognition)" function, this App requires an internet connection. The image or text block data you actively select will be transmitted to our backend server via a secure encrypted API for real-time text recognition.
We make the following strict privacy commitments regarding this function:
Real-Time Streaming Only: Your data is processed instantly in memory, and the text results are immediately returned to your device.
Zero Storage Policy: Once the API request is completed, the server will not retain, store, or record your original images, processed files, or extracted text results on any disk or storage medium.
No Unsolicited Uploads: This App will never covertly upload any of your local files without your explicit trigger and selection.
File History Logs: To make it convenient for you to reopen saved files, this App stores the processing history (file name, type, size, URI, and time) only locally on your device. If you move or delete a file within the system file manager, this local link will fail to open.
Album and Image Saving: Images generated by the App are saved to your system album or image directory. The exact visibility (e.g., whether they are categorized under a "PDF Toolbox" folder) depends on your phone system's gallery logic.
Clipboard Usage: When you click "Copy All," the App writes the extracted text into your system clipboard. This App never reads your clipboard content.
Cache and Temporary Files: This App generates local caches during file processing and preview generation. You can clear these temporary files at any time via "My Page - Clear Cache." Clearing the cache will not delete files you have already saved to your system directories, albums, or your specified locations.
We implement standard industry measures to protect your data:
Transmission Encryption: All network communications for the OCR recognition interface (including the transmitted image data and interface logs) utilize SSL/TLS encryption protocols to prevent data from being intercepted or eavesdropped on during transit.
Data Minimization: We strictly limit file access permissions and do not request permissions unrelated to our business.
Decentralization: This App has no user account ecosystem, fundamentally eliminating the risk of leaks regarding user accounts, personal identity information, or plain-text passwords.
The current version does not integrate any advertising SDKs, statistics SDKs, push notification SDKs, login SDKs, OAID SDKs, or GAID SDKs. The technical dependencies utilized strictly serve as core development frameworks or local processing tools:
AndroidX / Jetpack Compose Suite: Used for standard Android UI development and lifecycle management. (Not used for ad tracking or profiling)
Google Material Components: Used for standard visual UI components. (Not used for ad tracking or profiling)
OkHttp: Used securely for network transmissions related to the OCR API and basic diagnostics. (Not used for ad tracking or profiling)
PDFBox-Android: Used for local PDF document parsing and bottom-layer text reading. (Not used for ad tracking or profiling)
No Sale or Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data transmission is limited strictly to submitting user-selected content to our backend OCR interface to complete the recognition service.
Legal Disclosures: We will not publicly disclose your information unless required to do so by applicable laws, regulations, or mandatory legal processes from judicial or administrative authorities.
You retain full control over your local device data. You can manually clear local caches and erase local file records within the App at any time. You can also withdraw authorizations for permissions such as "Network Access" or "Album" at any time via your device's System Settings (disabling permissions will render the corresponding functions unavailable).
This Application does not provide specialized services targeted at children under the age of 14. If you are a minor, please use this Application under the supervision and guidance of your parent or legal guardian.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time due to functional changes or legal requirements. Upon an update, we will display a notification within the App. By continuing to use this Application, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the updated Privacy Policy.
